Apprenticeship Standard: Business Administration

Apprenticeships are a great way for school leavers who want to get straight onto the career ladder. An apprenticeship is comparable to 5 GCSE’s. Our Business Administration Apprenticeships are a one of the most popular Apprenticeships for young people aged 16 – 24* looking to work in an office whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualifications. An Apprenticeship in Business and Administration will give you skills and experience needed to thrive and work in an office environment.

The skills and qualities you need to succeed as a Business and Administration Apprentice are:

An interest in Business

  • Reliability and flexibility
  • The ability to work in a team as well as on your own as well as being self-motivated
  • Good organisation, communication and computer skills
  • Being able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

While your technical skills and knowledge will develop over the course of your apprenticeship you will also need to convince to potential employers that you have the relevant skills and qualities and that you are willing to commit to the role and learn.

Initial Assessment

Training providers and employers will use initial assessment to identify prior learning and experience so that they can tailor the Apprentice’s Individual Learning Plan only. Employers may use a separate interview or application process to assess an individual’s suitability for employment with the health. Initial assessments will be completed by the centre at Initial advise and guidance stage.

Progression

After successfully completing this there is further opportunity to progress onto an Advanced Level Apprenticeship  Customer Service qualification.
