Residential Support Worker - North London
Salary
£10 - £12 / Hour
An excellent role has just opened up for a Residential Support worker to work in a Residential Children's home based in North London. Our client is looking to pay between £10 - 12 p/h depending on experience.
As a Residential Support worker your aim would be to support, advise and care for your clients who are children in care with challenging behaviour.
Your day-to-day tasks as a Residential Support worker are:
- Assessing each resident's needs and progress
- Providing physical care
- Offering one-to-one counselling or leading group therapy sessions
- Providing leisure and creative opportunities
- Teaching daily living skills such as budgeting, shopping and claiming benefits
You will be required to cover shift work and are expected to cover sleep in duties.
To qualify for this position as a Residential Support worker you will need to have:
1. Experience working with children who have challenging behaviour
2. NVQ Level 3 in Care

You will be working as a day Care Assistant at an Elderly Residential Care Centre. Hours will be 8am-2pm saturday and 8am-2pm sunday. Duties will include the following:
- To ensure that each service users dignity and independence is respected.
- To encourage each service user to achieve the highest possible quality of life.
- To encourage all service users to participate in any discussion relating to their daily living arrangements.
- To assist where necessary with each service users personal hygiene needs.
- To assist service users at meal times where necessary and as directed in their individual plan of care, ensuring that any special dietary needs are met.
- To be professional and courteous at all times with outside agents, family members and visitors to the home.
- To assist any service user with mobility difficulties and other physical disabilities such as incontinence, with the help of any aids and special equipment.
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn and care for people. There is also the opportunity to underatake further shifts as necessary. Full induction will be given and full training will be provided. Experience in care is desirable. An enhanced disclosure will be required, the cost will be met by the employer.

£25,000 Are you a qualified NVQ Assessor? Do you have experience delivering Health and Social Care NVQ's? One of the UK's largest NVQ training providers are looking to grow their team of Qualified NVQ Assessors delivering Health and Social Care qualifications in the London area. This rewarding role will allow you to draw on your experience of NVQ Assessing to provide professional assessment and support to learners in their workplaces, enabling them to realise their career potential.
Responsibilities include
- Visiting learners in the workplace and assessing / tutoring them in their NVQ qualifications
- Maintaining documentation on learners and preparing portfolios
- Planning and implementing initial assessments and course reviews with learners
- Creating learner portfolios to agreed standards
- Working closely with Verifiers and Management
The ideal candidate will already be a D32/D33 or A1 qualified assessor who has the ability to work with and support a range of learners and has experience of the Health and Social Care industry. It is also essential that you are able to work independently, managing your own time and travelling within London/Kent/Essex areas.
